When You Suddenly Realize Your Current Life Has Become Tasteless, Repeating Like an NPC Day After Day

Sisyphus wakes, takes a streetcar, works four hours in an office or a factory, eats, then takes another streetcar, works four hours, eats, sleeps, and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, the same routine. Most of the time the road is not a problem. But one day, the 'why' is suddenly asked, and in this surprise, behind the surprise, lies all that is the beginning. —The Myth of Sisyphus

When You Suddenly Realize Your Current Life Has Become Tasteless, Repeating Like an NPC Day After Day

When a person glides on a predetermined track for too long, it seems that even the ability to feel joy becomes dulled. If that's the case, why not put aside those overly meticulous calculations and let intuition take the lead for once?

On the Courage to Choose

We're often told to "plan rationally," to consider risks and returns, to prepare comprehensively for the future. But sometimes, the most important transformations come precisely from those decisions that seem "not secure enough."

Life has no standard answers, nor does there exist any perfect roadmap. Given this, those thoughts that make my heart race, those "impractical" ideas, might actually be more worthy of serious consideration.

Like a traveler standing at a crossroads, every path on the map leads to unknown territories. Rather than hesitating at the starting point for too long, it's better to choose a direction that makes the heart beat faster, then take the first step.

Crossroads

On the Urgency of Time

If the above sounds too ethereal, consider this from another angle: the time we possess is actually more limited than we imagine.

Daily life easily creates an illusion, as if tomorrow will always arrive on schedule, as if we have endless opportunities to change something. But if we treat each day as a precious gift, if we view every choice as an irreplaceable opportunity, perhaps we can rediscover that authentic feeling of "being alive."

When we become aware of time's preciousness, those ideas usually shelved, those plans continuously postponed, might suddenly become urgent.

Way out

Final Thoughts

Of course, it's easier said than done. I'm not some life guru, just an ordinary person equally groping through confusion. But at least when we want to escape, we can remind ourselves: life doesn't have to follow some "reasonable" pattern. Sometimes following our feelings can actually reveal more possibilities.

A few days ago, I passed by a flower shop and saw the owner repotting succulents, moving slowly and meticulously. I suddenly thought that perhaps true happiness is hidden in these seemingly useless little things—not for any grand purpose, but simply because it feels interesting.

Thinking this way, even that resignation letter in my phone that I haven't submitted yet doesn't seem so frightening anymore.
